Do i need to take the SAT 2s?
Question: i am planning on taking the SATs in june. i was wondering if it would be worth it to pay a $20 late fee to take the SAT2:Math in may. if i score well, how would it help me for college? do i really need to take the SAT2?
Answers: AP Calculus will not help you on the Math II exam! i'm in the same position as you and i have to go back and review everything i learned in pre-cal and algebra II. i, being an A calculus student, tried without much studying and i got in the 600's (my first time). i'll probably end up retaking it again for a better score.
some schools want 2 and some privates want 3 subject tests.
u should take sat 2's only if the universites that u are applying to are requiring u to take it. b/c for some colleges its mandatory, and in others it simply looks good.
Nope. Depends on what college you're going to. Some colleges do require you to take some SAT2's.
you should take it anyway b/c it shows extra motivation/self-challenging on your part, so even if the school doesn't require it, it'll look good.
as far as may/june, i'd take it in june, b/c the more you learn before you take the test, the better. in other words, if you were to take it in may, you might score lower b/c you haven't learned everything you need. if you take it in june, you'll have had an extra month of prep time/classroom instruction in precal.
the only exception would be for ap courses - take sat's for ap classes in may before you forget everything. but since you're asking about math, that doesn't apply to you... so take it in june.
good luck! =)
No, it's obviously not worth it. Just take the regular SAT in may. How can you forget all the stuff in just a month seriously? I'm taking AP Bio test in may and the SAT II in june, so we're in the same boat here. I think it's good to actually have that extra month because AP and SAT II have different formats so you can familiarize them in the remaining time.
